Originally the Woolston Folk Club, was founded in 1986 and after various incarnations and venues now meet in Bursledon Village Hall, Long Lane, Bursledon, Hampshire SO31 8BZ. For details they have a helpful webpage.
A big thank you to Sam and Sandy for rousing me from my failures to visit them by arranging a visit from Ian Bruce. It was wonderful to hear him again even at the cost of a display of his Knobbly Knees on a stage at eye level. And then the joy of sitting between a pair of Glaswegians singing his choruses.
It was also good to meet up with so many friends I haven’t seen for a long time, all of whom showed the warm welcome for which this club is so often praised.
I have now also enjoyed a couple of singarounds, at one o which I even sang. Thank you Rosie for holding it together despite our participation.
