A lovely little Festival but growing.
I have managed to get to The New Forest Folk Festival on 3 occasions now. The first one being when my work colleagues got so fed up with me that they bought me a ticket to encourage me to retire, obviously they needed the space in the office. Most of my Festivals up to this point had been town based and involved staying in B&Bs or small hotels.
For our first visit we followed our past experience and stayed in accommodation along the road. It was very enjoyable and the owners went out of their way to meet our needs.

Although the stay was good we decided to expand our horizons the next year and experience staying in the field at the Festival. There were however limitations as to how back to nature this was to go and the plan was made that he next option was to use something more substantial than a tent.
.
.
And so for our 2nd and 3rd visits we used the services of Wessex Caravan Services. A plan was agreed and delivery was sorted, their web site said that they did’t do self drive hire . If you are the sort of person who doesn’t enjoy towing a caravan through the country lanes this is a very good option.
This was a very enjoyable experience too. As these were my first stays in a caravan it took a little bit of getting used to but we are planning to repeat the experiment in 2021. Sadly Wessex are no more so we are trying Paulton’s Caravan Hire, they are also a little closer. And what a great line up is planned.
The Breakfast bar at the Festival is a cheerful and easy way to start the day and the Festival catering was throughout most enjoyable with friendly folk everywhere.
Some folk have grown accustomed to being able to ignore the advice given by security staff when the Festival was smaller and thereby enjoyed greater freedom. The Security team are the most pleasant I have experienced and if they say no to your initial request they may well offer a suggestion which meets your needs in a better way than you thought to ask for.
